The Eagle

I’ve begun working through deep trauma in my life with the guidance of a somatic therapist. As part of this healing process, I’m reexperiencing old wounds—the sensations, the memories, and the way they can still hijack my ability to function. But this time, it’s within a safe, controlled space. My body is starting to respond—releasing long-held tension in my nervous system—and I can feel the shift, however subtle.

It’s only the beginning of a long journey, but I know I’m on the right path. I’m learning to listen to my body instead of silencing it.

For me, the eagle represents freedom—rising above, seeing from a broader perspective, and moving forward with strength.

What symbolises freedom for you?
