Calming your nerves in recovery

Something I have deeply struggled with and still do to a degree is that my central nervous system is charged from the drugs and experiences I have had which have been exceptionally traumatic, intense and emotionally draining. Couple that with the potency of the drugs, and biochemical and nerve damage your body needs time to heal. The process of healing will take time and how long that will take will differ for each person. There is no set rule. It can take months or years.

If you are in recovery from a drug addiction and can relate to this blog post, look into somatic psychotherapy. I have found it very helpful. I can also highly recommend Yoga Nidra which is a type of mindfulness you can practice when preparing for sleep.
