It’s easy to say that crystal meth is far more harmful and potent than cannabis. Meth is a toxic mix of harsh chemicals (battery acid for one), whereas cannabis is cultivated under controlled conditions using fertilizers and other additives to enhance growth and quality.
During my recovery from crystal meth, I personally witnessed two individuals go through cannabis withdrawal. Both were long-term, daily users, and they experienced excessive sweating, mood swings, anger, difficulty concentrating, and anxiety or panic attacks.
Quitting meth comes with its own challenges, and this post isn’t meant to downplay that. However, one thing has become clear to me: I once believed meth wasn’t a real problem in my life, but seeing others struggle with cannabis withdrawal has made me realize that addiction—no matter the substance—can bring serious issues. Make of that what you will.
