10 days sobriety celebration

I am now 10 days sober and free from any illicit drugs. If you’re new to my blog, let me share a bit of my journey. Earlier this year, I got involved with crystal meth, also known as Tina or T, and GHB, often referred to as G or Gina. In the past, I’ve also used mephedrone, known as M-Kat. For at least 2-3 months this year, I was heavily using T and G together, a practice known as poly-drug use.

The first time I used meth was an unforgettable experience—it brought an incredible high. But as I continued using T and G, that high became harder to reach. My tolerance built up, and soon I was smoking through 2-3 grams of T a week and diluting anywhere from 50-70 ml of G weekly. Despite this, the original high never returned.

Then, I made a dangerous decision. A dealer I knew came to my place to drop off supplies, and a couple of hours later, at my request, they injected meth directly into my vein. This method, known as slamming, involves dissolving crushed meth in boiling water and injecting it. If you miss the vein, it can cause a hard lump from either damaging the vein or the meth entering the surrounding tissue.

During my addiction, I had three injections administered, a thought that now makes me feel sick. I even attempted to inject someone else, which failed and left them with a bruise. I also experienced one failed attempt on myself, which resulted in a lump that took a couple of months to go away. Looking back, it’s hard to believe I thought it was okay to ask, “Can you admin?” as if it were some kind of course or routine.

Now, I’m focused on staying clean and moving forward. Every day sober is a victory.
